Agenda
Opening Performance by Mariachi Gran Vista
Grandview High School’s Mariachi Gran Vista has been delighting the Yakima Valley with the traditional sounds of Mexico for over 20 years. As one of the oldest high school mariachi programs in the state of Washington, the group is in high demand for birthday celebrations, business openings, and community events. In addition to school and community events, the students have been successful competitively, reaching the WIAA/WMEA State Solo & Ensemble Contest in six of the seven years since the mariachi category was officially adopted in 2018. Under the guidance of their current director, Mr. Scott Carson, the ensemble has grown from a mere 12 members in 2016 to more than 50 today. In 2020, Mariachi Gran Vista adopted the traditional traje de charro as their uniform thanks to the generosity of the Grandview School District.

We will be using the SCHED app for our breakout sessions. Once our agenda has been finalized, conference attendees will have the opportunity to select the breakout sessions they would like to attend using this app. If sessions are full, attendees will be prompted to find an alternative selection. Session RSVPs will be first-come, first-serve. We recommend attendees download this app and begin to familiarize themselves with its functionality.
