The time has come to find a new leader for Educational Service District 105.

This January, Superintendent Kevin Chase announced his retirement effective June 30, 2024. Superintendent Chase has contributed to creating a lasting impact on the success of the ESD 105 and the districts, schools, students and communities we serve and will be greatly missed by all those who work with him. Our intent is to fill the role of ESD 105 Superintendent in May 2024, prior to Mr. Chase's final day.

During our Board of Directors meeting on February 6, 2024, a motion was passed to approve the proposal to move forward with Northwest Leadership Associates to conduct the search for our agency's next leader, who will step into the role on July 1.

The superintendent oversees ESD 105, which serves 25 public school districts in Kittitas and Yakima counties, as well as parts of Grant and Klickitat counties Those districts include more-than 4,200 classroom teachers and 66,100 students.

  • Meeting with Board and Stakeholder Focus groups
  • Opportunities for input into search process and potential candidates by staff
  • Focus groups with school district superintendents, board members, identified partners, ESD 105 community members, other required participants
  • Online survey launched to select ESD 105 audiences
  • Finalize challenges, qualities and qualifications to be included in the brochure and other promotional information
  • Establish recruitment processes
  • Initiate recruitment
  • Position brochure and application posted on websites
  • Brochure emailed to NWLA distribution list and selected contacts
