Pre School - 3rd Grade Professional Alignment

Teachers will explore the alignment between the Washington State Early Learning and Development Guidelines and Common Core State Standards and how to use the Learning Pathways in Numeracy document to create developmentally appropriate classroom activities.  The modules focus on counting and cardinality, operations and algebraic thinking, and geometry. Teachers will explore creating fabulous Kindergarten classrooms that are developmentally appropriate and academically rigorous.  The three modules focus on examining current research in child development, creating rigorous learning environments, and designing developmentally appropriate learning centers.  Please contact us for more information.

Professional learning for experienced WaKIDS teachers or administrators highlighting the new birth to third grade MyTeachingStrategies platform.   Contact us to schedule onsite district support.

Elementary prinicpals and district administrators will focus on how rich instructional tasks in developmentally appropriate full-day kindergarten learning environments are used with fidelity for observational assessment.  Participants will explore how the new birth to third grade MyTeachingStrategies interface assists teachers in efficiently completing the  assessment cycle and how the data reports inform instruction and improve student outcomes.

Early learning professionals and preschool/kindergarten teachers focus on early math skills in a series of 4 one-hour professional learning communities based on current research that supports these activities in the classroom.  Each session has a different topic and participants will receive materials to take back to their classroom to recreate the activities with their students.  Contact us to schedule onsite district sessions.

The 2018-19 OSPI and AESD applicant program will focus on leadership, culturally responsive teaching, and creating conditions in the classroom for inter-dependent and independent learners.  We will analyze our region's data to find the opportunity gap for our students.

Preschool teachers working with special education students meet monthly to collaborate with each other while exploring current trends in the classroom.
