Pathways Behavioral Outreach Team (PBOT)

The Pathways Behavioral Outreach Team (PBOT) at ESD 105 provides a continuum of behavioral support services to help districts effectively support students with challenging behaviors. Our team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts and Behavior Support Specialists works collaboratively with schools, educators, and families to build capacity, improve outcomes, and create positive learning environments.

Our services are organized across three levels of support:

Skills-Based Treatment (SBT)

"The goal is not the absence of problem behavior. The goal is the presence of skills." — Dr. Greg Hanley

Skills-Based Treatment is a function-based, dignity-preserving approach to addressing severe and persistent challenging behavior. Rather than focusing solely on reducing problem behavior, SBT builds the functional skills students need to navigate their world, including communication, tolerance, cooperation, academic engagement, and social skills. Skills are taught progressively, at each student's own pace, in a safe and supportive environment.
