Why Teach Computer Science?
To help prepare our students to become tomorrow's innovators, they must become computational thinkers.
ESD 105 is providing K-5 teachers in our region with a high quality professional development opportunity from launch CS!
Computational Thinking Integration for K-5 Teachers is a multiple-day course that prepares teachers to integrate computer science and computational thinking into their lessons across multiple subject areas. Teachers will learn about computational thinking and computer science content pedagogy as they become skilled at incorporating Ozobots, Makey Makey & Micro:Bits into their instructional activities. Teachers will also become familiar with both Scratch Jr and Scratch, two free computer science programming platforms designed for younger students.
Computational Thinking Integration for K-5 Teachers can be delivered in both face-to-face and virtual environments. Please contact Larry Davison at ESD 105 for more details.
