Develop open educational resources in English language arts with OSPI starting in March

Here's a special opportunity for middle school and high school English language arts teachers:  Sign up now to be a part of the Open Educational Resource Designs and Development offering being provided for free through OSPI to the ESD 105 region this March through May.

Participants in this group will develop high quality OER units of study that develop ELA themes aligned with Washington's readig, writing, speaking/listening, and langage standards.  Teachers will also use the design process to develop, test, and revise the units, in collaboration with other educators.

Group members will participate in a required 2-hour online meeting on Tuesday, March 12 (3:00-5:00 p.m.), attend a meeting at ESD 105 to devleop the unit  on Monday, March 18 (8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.), test the unit in their own settings from March 19-May 19, then regroup at ESD 105 to evaluate, revise, and share resources on Monday, May 20 (8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.).

OSPI is able to cover the costs for 15 substitutes (at the rate of $200 per sub) for the first 15 attendees who request this.  If you are in need of a substitute, contact either Barbara Soots at OSPI (360-725-6102) or Molly Berger (360-725-6070).
