ESD 105 part of first national cohort of CSforALL grants

High school students at computer ESD 105 -- partnered in a community alliance with Wenatchee's North Central ESD 171 -- has become one of 10 recipients nationwide of a $15,000 catalyst grant to help promote making high-quality computer science an integral part of K-12 education.

The grant comes from the New York-based CSforALL, which received 74 applications from 30 states for its first national cohort of awardees.

Applicants for the grants were selected on the basis of the involvement of formal K-12 education, innovation and strategy, increase of access of equitable computer science, and sustainability strategies in their application.

ESD 105 and ESD 171 will share their $15,000 for year-long activities through next October to promote equitable access in computer science education to students throughout Central Washington.
