Two local students honored in OSPI's statewide High School Art Show!

Two of the Regional Award-winning students from our ESD 105 Regional High School Art Show have now added statewide recognitions at OSPI's Superintendent's High School Art Show!

"In the Shadows" colored pencil portrait by Mia Dufault.  Teacher - Carole Huls, Davis HS, Yakima School Dist.  ESD 105.Davis High School sophoore Mia Dufault has been selected as this year's winner of the Washington Association of School Principals Award -- one of the 19 main award categories at the state show.  The student was recognized for her colored pencils portait of a Bangladesh girl titled "In The Shadows."  The award includes a $200 cash prize, and Dufault's work will be on display in the Washington Association of School Principals offices for one year.  When the artwork returns to Yakima, will will go on permanent display in the ESD 105 Conference Center's collection of past student artwork, having been one of the two recipients of this year's ESD 105 Board Choice Award.

Also at OSPI's state show, West Valley High School senior Carter Williams earned one of five Honorable Mention nods for her charcoal and torn paper depiction of Apollo titled "God of Music."
