School-Based Behavioral Health Services

Supporting Student Behavioral Health

Our Behavioral Health team partners with schools across the region to ensure students have access to the support they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

Currently, our team includes Student Assistance Professionals, school-based mental health therapists and substance use counselors who are embedded full-time in many regional schools. These professionals are part of the school community—building trusted relationships with students, collaborating with staff, and providing consistent, high-quality support.

Working alongside school counselors, nurses, and other student support staff, these professionals form a coordinated network of care. Together, they help enhance, monitor, and respond to students' overall wellness, ensuring that needs are identified early and addressed effectively.

How Our Approach Helps Students and Schools

Our model is designed to both strengthen school systems and expand access to care.

  • We partner with schools to build and refine Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), helping ensure students receive the right level of support at the right time.
  • We provide access to school-based mental health services, reducing barriers for students and families.
  • As a Behavioral Health Agency, we can bill Medicaid and other insurers, helping shift much of the financial burden away from schools.

The Impact

By combining strong school partnerships with accessible mental health services, we are able to:

  • Increase access to care for students
  • Support school staff in meeting student needs
  • Strengthen systems that promote student well-being and success
